Hollaback! Istanbul & DreamTree Productions are hosting an open call to artists for inclusion in our 2012 exhibition.
Hollaback is committed to breaking the silence of physical and verbal harassment. To that end, they are collaborating with DreamTree Productions to host an art exhibition featuring artworks inspired by, or with, harassment/violence as the subject matter. Our aim is to raise awareness and provide a space for people to share their stories via visual art. Proceeds from art sales will benefit local organisations that work to end physical and verbal harassment/violence.
Requirements: 3 – 5 images
Entry fee: 10TL (to be paid only if your works are exhibited)
Deadline: 1 August 2012
Eligibility: Open to all artists.
All submitted artwork must be available and for sale.
Entry Procedure:
Entries will only be accepted via email at dreamtree.prod@gmail.com. Artists should submit 3-5 images of their artwork and an artist statement (100 word maximum).
Every submission will be personally considered and reviewed by us.
About Us:
Hollaback! is an international movement to end street harassment. The goals of the Hollaback project are: first, to give people an empowered response to street harassment, and second, to raise awareness about street harassment so that we can ultimately end it. Through using technology and social media, we have the power to stand up for ourselves, support others, educate society, and work towards lasting change. DreamTree Productions is a community-oriented arts organization. Our aim is four-fold: to present fresh and imaginative interpretations of classical and contemporary works in English, to raise awareness about current global and local issues, to foster cross-cultural connections, and to use the power of theatre to benefit those in need. All profits are donated to local and/or global charities. http://dreamtreeproductions.wordpress.com/
